Job Description •Provides total patient care as assigned. •Plans and provides patient care according to the unit based standard and plan for providing care. •Integrates transcultural principles into nursing care. •Communicates and/or documents all relevant information as per established standards. •Work directly with patients and their families. •Record patients’ health histories and symptoms. •Perform frequent patient evaluations, including monitoring and tracking vital signs. •Assess patients’ conditions and determine when consultation is required. •Operate medical equipment. •Administer treatment and medications. •Develop the day-to-day nursing care plans both in hospital, and for care after discharge by families and visiting nurses. •Teach patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy. •Participates actively in patient education programs. •Participate in relevant inservice and / or continuing education. •Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures. •Performs all other related duties as assigned.
